It’s not about safety, is about poking gun owners in the eye.

It’s not about safety, is about poking gun owners in the eye.
A sarcastic letter with a tongue in cheek “solution” is not what sensible approaches are about in the effort to keeping powerful weapons from those that would do us harm.
Your comment reminds me of what Hannity used to do when he was still faking political “balance”. He’d bring on a looney guest with extreme ideas, then lead him on with accusatory questions to skewer him and make him look even more unbalanced. Then use that person as a perfect example of what liberals were like.
For that matter, such tactics were the modus operandi of most right wing pundits and talk show hosts.
Keep your eyes open, Don, no one is poking them.

Well, it didn’t take long for your fellow commenters to show that my assessment is correct.

“to show that my assessment is correct.” ??
I can find nothing in my (fellow commenters) post that would support your contention.

Phil was trying to make a point; not the way I would have approached it, but it does get to the issue of the non-compromising attitude of the NRA cultists.
Reasonable suggestions, even when supported by the vast majority of Americans seem to have no affect regardless.

“Compromise on gun control is a non-starter”
You got that right.

No more pretending to be worried about the hurt feelings of those whose “man license” needs one of these things to cuddle.

Thumbs up to Beto and Phil!
The NRA and GOP have made compromise just about impossible on this topic; but, I think we are all smart enough to understand that there is a tipping point. I firmly believe with each new mass shooting we get closer to removing these weapons from the market place AND we get closer to universal back ground checks for all gun sales/transactions. I think so, too. There’s no way to know the writer’s mind, but I imagine he doesn’t know what a Catch 22 is and thinks he came up with a clever one.

Speaking of getting poked in the eye, have you calculated the size of your RMD tax bomb yet??
Ooowhee, but Uncle Sugar gonna love the way I’ve been investing his money all these years.
