No distractions: An NFL veteran opens up on his sexuality

With pro football season starting in a week, I found this an interesting piece. Something a little different than our usual discussions. If anyone is put off by this post, my apologies. I just thought is was important … and different.

  1. You might help yourself by jotting up a few lines to explain why you consider the link interesting or important. It is YOUR thoughts, not those contained in some random article on the Web, which make forums like this one interesting.

An easy way to approach it is to start with a formula, such as: “This article is interesting/important/wise/foolish because [fill in the blank].”

Or: “I love/hate the link for three reasons: [then list them as bullet points].”

    No slam.

  2. Try reading exactly what I wrote. Football season is upon us. I found it an interesting piece from a site not seen linked to before. It is different from our usual discussions. If you don’t like it, fine. But I explained why I posted it and allowed individuals to be curious. I’m sorry I don’t meet YOUR high standards of posting. If you think the link should be taken down and my post deleted, take the actions to do so.

Read the piece and then criticize. But down talk down to me. I really don’t appreciate it.

    1. RE: “Read the piece and then criticize.”

I did, but instead of criticizing, I offered some advice. You should take it.

      1. It came off as condescending. As does this: “You should take it.” However, I see that you said “No slam” and I missed that the first time through.

        Thanks for the advice.

    2. What and how you posted was fine and as you opined I found it an “interesting” read.

My hope has alway been that “IF” we mature as a species such “closeted” behavior will become a curiosity for future generations.
