I’m all for this. Scientists are certainly correct to be skeptical, but the puzzle is a matter of engineering, not science. Until it is attempted we won’t know whether the obvious benefits can be delivered safely or not.

I’m all for this. Scientists are certainly correct to be skeptical, but the puzzle is a matter of engineering, not science. Until it is attempted we won’t know whether the obvious benefits can be delivered safely or not.
Personally, I would like to see developments along these lines. The Navy has been operating small scale nuclear reactors safely for decades. Developing the packaging and safety technology to move reactors of this scale to dry land COULD eventually find important applications in our power system. IMHO
