Democrats blamed for Republican election fraud in NC. Say what?

Apparently McConnell thinks Americans are inherently ignorant.

There is not one sentient being that could equate the Republican election fraud with the Democrats’ efforts to oppose laws that make voter participation more restrictive.

The biggest example of election fraud that we’ve seen in recent history and it is all Republican, all the time.

Trump might be right after all. He did not lose the popular vote by 2.5 million or so votes. He probably lost by 5 million.

The conservative strategy is to distract Americans with ID’s at the polls, registration hiccups, polling stations, etc.. Then just steal the election like in the bad old days.

More evidence that the GOP is trying to destroy our nation from within.

Just like Khrushchev predicted.

IMHO, of course.

  1. We already knew what a shameless POS McConnell is but here is more evidence. Sadly, the kind of people who believe the pathological liar in the White House will eat this stuff up too. And the fact that there are millions of such people does not contradict your second paragraph.

Of course there is. Mr. McConnell’s statements were both factually correct and logical. See the video clip that inspired the idiotic “Reality check,” linked in the first paragraph.

    1. Sorry. McConnell is still lying.

What happened in NC was not, repeat, not voter fraud. No amount of individual voter ID’s would have made a lick of difference.

It was pure and simple election fraud. Along the lines of ballot stuffing, fraudulent counting and other classic methods of changing the election outcomes.

One man acting on behalf of the GOP campaign, harvested ballots and filled them in.

I am sure he already had a picture ID.

NC is the same crooked state where Federal Courts, after reviewing reams of evidence and actual surveys paid for by the GOP, determined that the efforts to curtail voter participation was targeting minorities with “surgical precision.”

I saw the “idiotic” video clip as you described.

Mitch was spinning BS like a top on a cow pie.

Yes, it was. McConnel attributed the fraud to improper handling of harvested ballots. That’s not exactly the same as impersonation, but it IS comparable, and it IS fraudulent.

        1. “McConnell attributed the fraud to improper handling of harvested ballots.” So there is a proper way to commit election fraud by ballot harvesting?

Of course it is fraud. Election fraud. You are playing the semantics game. The real question is:
what Republican “reforms” would have stopped that specific kind known as ballot harvesting?

Ballot harvesting prevention was not even on the agenda in any state as far as I can tell. It is already illegal.

It is fraudulent, but hardly comparable. Closing polls, moving polls, ID’s, restrictions on registration, purging rolls, none of these “reforms” favored by the GOP would have stopped what happened.

And since you brought it up, when did the Democrats do this also? In recent history.

          McConnell is still lying.

There is not one sentient being that could really believe that. There is NOTHING in the voter suppression measures that Democrats have opposed and the Courts have overturned that had anything to do with stopping the kind of fraud committed by the GOP in this NC election.

      1. Ballot harvesting, which Democrats also do, is inherently insecure. Any comprehensive system designed to ensure election integrity would either ban or severly regulate the practice.

        1. You may be right about the need for better laws to regulate “ballot harvesting” although it appears that there are already laws on the books that this NC GOP campaign violated. There have now been indictments. But if you are right, the obvious question is why do NONE of these GOP election fraud initiatives address it?

Of course, “ballot harvesting” is “election” and “fraud” but it is NOT in-person voter fraud which these voter suppressing ID efforts claim to protect against even though it almost never happens.

The idiotic “Reality check” introduced that red herring, not Mitch McConnel. But in practice, the nature of the fraud is the same: producing a ballot in someone else’s name.

          2. The nature of the fraud is the same?

Depends on what you mean by “the same.”

Sure, in-person voter fraud results in a fraudulent ballot in the box and so does fraudulent absentee ballot harvesting.

But the methods are NOT the same and the In-person variety almost never happens. And yet, it is stopping the kind of fraud that doesn’t happen at the cost of great inconvenience to tens of millions of people that the GOP is pushing. While none of their laws seem to be aimed at preventing fraudulent absentee ballot harvesting which we now know the party has practiced.
