Hunted ducks on the eastern shore barrier islands as a young man. Never overdid it and always ate what I killed…but wish I hadn’t. Switched to a camera and found it more rewarding. Nice shot, err, picture.

Doubt you’ll see canvasbackss like that any time soon nowadays.
But I am going out in hopes of a few wood ducks in the morning.

Saw 2 pair last winter on the Lafayette in Norfolk last winter for the first time in years..Beautiful birds and supposedly the best table duck there is. Good luck.

Didn’t see a duck but there were thousands of snow geese out of range and formations of Tundra Swans of over 100 birds. Never saw that many.
