Is it just me, or did The Pilot’s new commenting policy coincide with them printing fewer letters worthy of comment? The page has been a snooze-fest for weeks now.

And none critical of their new posting guidelines, and I know that others besides mine were sent in.
They also cut in half the number of Op-eds and guest editorials.

It’s not just you.
I hate to beat the conspiratorial drum, but how many coincidences does it take until a trend and it’s apparent motives become obvious?
We like to think of news outlets as free speech agencies. The Pilot, however, is willfully developing into a gatekeeper and a controller.
It is not an exaggeration to observe that liberty is at risk.
