President Biden’s plan to visit Israel tomorrow is very foolish.
It should be obvious that by entering the war zone he is risking his life and — potentially — our lives, too. It also is clear that grandstanding such as this has nothing to gain that could not be gained by other, less dramatic, means. Further, Biden’s frailty and dementia are sure to create problems we don’t need. What if he loses his temper in public, or falls down?
I don’t know how to resolve the conflict at hand, but I’m sure that bombs and bloodshed are unlikely to be effective. We must hope that our president has something better in mind as the purpose of his visit.
A friend of mine made a good point the other day. Direct quotes from a text exchange:
“I have a growing thesis that Biden might be one of the most dangerous presidents we have had. Within 4 years (purely from a realist perspective), he’s overseen the realignment of the world against the US and a complete strategic decline…The way he went all in on Ukraine, now China and Russia are united. The way he has gone all in on Israel, he actually made Saudi and Iran talk for the first time in 10 years. Can you think of a bigger strategic decline in just 4 years than that?”

Your friend makes a great point.
I slide back and forth on Hanlon’s Razor where Biden in concerned: Is he malicious or stupid? Either way, all of us are sure to suffer.

Stupid and malicious are not mutually exclusive.
