Has it occurred to anyone yet that this effectively forces those who rent or can’t afford to invest in a rooftop solar installation to subsidize the costs for the businesses and wealthy greenies who can?
This is really just a way to enrich the crony makers of these virtue signaling setups.
If they were economically viable, no subsidy would be needed.

This was a concept Jerry Pournelle and Larry Niven, my 2nd favorite Sci-fi writers were pushing 40 years ago.
The transmission problems seem to be the main obstacle, along with the environmental impact statement.

Understood. The article at Infogalactic mentions two different possibilities for transmission. I have the impression that the engineering is feasible.
