Trump distracts from Twitter scandal 

Sometimes I am thankful for the Democrats ability to nominate greater evils. There is no other explanation for Trump getting elected the first time. 

With the Twitter files coming out the total corruption and un-American nature of the Democratic party and its elitist allies in Big Tech and the Deep State was playing out for all to see. The proof that a fraud was committed against the American voter through selective censorship and false dismissal of the evidence of the Biden family’ corruption is now undeniable. All Trump had to do is sit back and watch. 

But instead he suggests his loss in the election justifies disregarding the Rule of Law and even parts of the Constitution. There are no circumstances, not even war, that justify ignoring the Constitution.

He found a way to bring more negative attention to himself than was rightfully falling on the Democrats. Hopefully, he has made himself so unelectable that the GOP will turn away.

            I was commenting on Trump’s stupid need to be the center of attention when he and the rest of us are best served by letting the issue play out while he stays out of the spotlight.

            Trump’s policies were, with some exceptions like protectionism’ pretty good. But his narcissism is his downfall.

Not saying they don’t have a right to push conservative agendas. They told Trump what they needed and he did it. But pretty much any conservative president would have relied on them for input.

    1. What can be done is to prosecute those who violated people’s free speech rights under the color of authority. If Biden was complicit in that, he can be impeached.

      But the Constitution was followed, and if the people were fooled in their voting, it’s not the first time, just by a different method.

      That does not make it right to ignore the Constitution.

        That raises the question, Which is more fundamental, Constitutional compliance or the will of the people? Trump apparently believes the will of the people is more fundamental.

        Given that the Constitution needs the will of the people to be enforced, Trump’s observation — while brazen — is a supportable one.

            Democrats advocate free speech. But we expect people to accept the consequences of what they have to say. Now that Musk has decided to throw open Twitter to liars, Russian bots, racists, antisemites, white supremacists and other deplorables I have not heard one Democrat demand that he be forced to restore the previous moderation efforts that allowed Twitter to grow. What we HAVE done is let advertisers know that supporting such free speech may not be good for business. That is how the market and the marketplace of ideas are supposed to work.

            Yeah, as Twitter’s user base and viewership continue to expand, advertisers might see that differently as their competitors who do advertise there prosper. That is how the marketplace works.

            But you are deceptive in claiming the censorship was aimed at ‘deplorables’ when in fact it was directed at reputable scientists who did not agree with the climate and COVID narrative.

            Statements like “The Jews will not replace us” were suppressed less than “climate is not an emergency.”

Personally, I would have been less offended by dick picks than by a candidate publicly calling on Russia to release hacked emails to help his campaign.     The election was valid. Every court in the nation has ruled there was no election fraud. The government of the United States is not illegitimate just because Trump lost. But his cult members will forevermore believe it is. Ask yourself who benefits from having citizens of the United States of America believing their government is invalid?

          5. On June 7, 2017, Trump announced his intention to nominate Christopher Wray to be the next Director of the FBI. Yet Wray never produced a laptop or any evidence that such a laptop ever existed. In four years, with full firing and hiring power over the FBI, Trump never produced a laptop. Either there was no laptop or Trump was a weak, incompetent President. Or both.

            There are so many outlets for information, lies, truths, and dinner menus that complaining because not all want to go that route all the time is sour grapes.

            Ask yourself why Twitter was so successful for so long compared to other likeminded sites. Now that medium may be dying as our national attention span shifts to other means.

            Most of what the last president posted on Twitter was likened to a five year old who pooped on the living room floor during his parent’s cocktail party.

            Attention with outrage sells eyeballs on ads…to a limit. Twitter set its limit and the right is upset at losing a respectable forum for disrespectful posts. And evidently they are not able to compete with its own sites.

            Your complaint seems to be with our LEADING journalistic organizations. WAPO, NYT, PBS, etc. And yes, there is a bias at play. To earn a place on, say, WAPO, you have to be highly intelligent and highly educated. Such intelligent and educated people are not so easily fooled by “alternative facts” and, therefore do not report them to the extent you would like. Too bad. But that IS the marketplace of ideas.

            The value of the currency is not the problem. Whether inflation is low, high or non-existent, the problem is how the fruits of labor are divvied up.

            If our system were not loaded against ordinary working people then wages would be higher and Jeff Bezos would have a few less billion to play with. If wages were in better sync with the value produced by working people then the general standard of living would be better.

            Beginning with the Reagan Revolution the economic system HAS been loaded against ordinary working people. Union busting. Stagnant minimum wages. Minimal employee protections. Even today people working on the railroad cannot even get a few days of paid sick leave.

      I opposed Trump’s nomination. But then Hillary was the only option. And that would be worse.

      I didn’t say the election was fraudulent, I said the voters were defrauded. Recent polls tell us that 17% of Bidens voters would have changed their votes had they known the laptop was not Russian disinformation and what was in it.

      The DNC, FBI and Big Tech conspired to mislead the American people in the weeks before the election.

      And that in itself is a greater evil than Trump.

When he said he wanted to “find 11,780 votes,” you can believe he would have done it if he could.             Personally, I think promoting insurrection has done more damage to our country than any climate policy.

            Spending was necessary for many reasons, one of which was to get the economy out of the tailspin brought on by the pandemic. At this point, it seems to be working. Obama pulled the country out of Bush’s economic disaster and Biden has pulled the country out of Trump’s economic disaster.

            As for being on the edge of nuclear war, that is totally Putin’s doing. Putin was counting on his puppet being in place when he made his move on a sovereign country that borders NATO. Unfortunately for him all of his horses and all of his men couldn’t put Trumpty back in office again. Putin’s second mistake was believing he had weakened the US and NATO enough that he could march into Ukraine and take what he wanted anyway. He was wrong again.

            There’s no way Trumpty is the lesser of any evil.

            One of the questions asked:

            “At the time you cast your vote for president, were you aware that Joe Biden chose as his running mate and successor Kamala Harris, rated the most left wing Senator in America, even more leftist that Bernie Sanders, a self-described socialist?”

            Isn’t that an egregious example of push polling?

            I think so. Other questions also presume a “fact”, use it and ask for agreement.

            IMO the poll is at best fake, at worst, egregiously so.

          15. Thanks for doing that research, Len. I thought about doing it but I figured it would be a wasted effort. Anybody gullible enough to believe Trump’s BS isn’t capable of understanding how a pollster can manipulate questions to get the desired answers. This particular poll has all the subtleties of a hooker on crack.

          16. Funny, the site puts on a great show with graphs. But then you read the questions and it is almost “do you still beat your mother for beer money?”.

            No wonder conspiracies thrive. There are professionals who know how many folks roll, and the know exactly how to ,give the push.

            The more believers, the more heady the feeling of power. The rally master knew this and tailored his rhetoric to solidify the lies.

            I will ignore your ignorant insult and simply say that I do not believe that “Marxism-Lenism Today” is a trustworthy source. I will add that agreements between nations are documented in formal letters of understanding and are not based on cocktail banter.

            The looming expansion of NATO to include Sweden, Finland and Ukraine would not be happening if it were not for Russian aggression.

            The big debate was about East Germany, which would put NATO closer to Russia. But negotiations never bore fruit for a variety of reasons.

            So discussions were held and assurances were offered, but obviously rejected since nothing was written into a formal treaty.
