Trump distracts from Twitter scandal

Sometimes I am thankful for the Democrats ability to nominate greater evils. There is no other explanation for Trump getting elected the first time.

With the Twitter files coming out the total corruption and un-American nature of the Democratic party and its elitist allies in Big Tech and the Deep State was playing out for all to see. The proof that a fraud was committed against the American voter through selective censorship and false dismissal of the evidence of the Biden family’ corruption is now undeniable. All Trump had to do is sit back and watch.

But instead he suggests his loss in the election justifies disregarding the Rule of Law and even parts of the Constitution. There are no circumstances, not even war, that justify ignoring the Constitution.

He found a way to bring more negative attention to himself than was rightfully falling on the Democrats. Hopefully, he has made himself so unelectable that the GOP will turn away.

    Oh my!
Corruption! Elitists! Big Tech! Deep State! Un-American!

Tell us truthfully, do you really believe this nonsense? Or do you just enjoy the role of troll?

As a reminder, the person suggesting we throw out the Constitution so he can stay in power is the person you have been loyally carrying water for since at least 2016.

          1. Oh, my ridicule is warranted and then some. This diehard Trump supporter wishes he were now gone? Why? Because finally even he can see what a loser Trump is. Not because Trump is the con man, incompetent, liar, scofflaw, and criminal that he has been from day one. Nope. But being a loser? That we cannot abide.

Like many other fervent and here-to-fore obsequious supporters, Dr. Tabor is turning on Mr. Trump and wishing him gone. Why is he doing that? Thousands of Lies? Multiple Crimes? Insurrection? Incompetence? Sexual perversion? Nope. None of those. Trump’s sin is distracting attention from the Democrats and the latest phony scandal that has next to nothing to do with them. Can’t have that. Time for him to go. What a loser!

I was commenting on Trump’s stupid need to be the center of attention when he and the rest of us are best served by letting the issue play out while he stays out of the spotlight.

Trump’s policies were, with some exceptions like protectionism’ pretty good. But his narcissism is his downfall.

The path of the economy did not change until that Black Swan. It is more accurate to say, their advice did little harm. Unless you count destroying our global reputation and enormously increasing the debt for no good reason as a harm. As many do.

Try to be honest. COVID was a test of Donald Trump and his chance for a good place in history. He failed the test – bigly.

The point I made still stands. It was this sin (and the losses he inflicted on the GOP) and not because Trump is the con man, incompetent, liar, scofflaw, and criminal that he has been from day one that has turned his previously obsequious and complicit supporters against him.

That raises the question, Which is more fundamental, Constitutional compliance or the will of the people? Trump apparently believes the will of the people is more fundamental.

Given that the Constitution needs the will of the people to be enforced, Trump’s observation — while brazen — is a supportable one.

Now that Musk has decided to throw open Twitter to liars, Russian bots, racists, antisemites, white supremacists and other deplorables I have not heard one Democrat demand that he be forced to restore the previous moderation efforts that allowed Twitter to grow. What we HAVE done is let advertisers know that supporting such free speech may not be good for business. That is how the market and the marketplace of ideas are supposed to work.

Yeah, as Twitter’s user base and viewership continue to expand, advertisers might see that differently as their competitors who do advertise there prosper. That is how the marketplace works.

But you are deceptive in claiming the censorship was aimed at ‘deplorables’ when in fact it was directed at reputable scientists who did not agree with the climate and COVID narrative.

Statements like “The Jews will not replace us” were suppressed less than “climate is not an emergency.”

So, the only explanation for Trump getting elected the first (and ONLY time) was because Democrats nominated the evil Hillary Clinton? “I didn’t want to vote for Trump. Democrats made me do it!” Question: if you didn’t want to vote for Trump, why did you nominate him? Did Hillary make you do that too? Oh I do love to watch Trumpers twist themselves into knots trying to justify their gullible, foolish votes.

Personally, I would have been less offended by dick picks than by a candidate publicly calling on Russia to release hacked emails to help his campaign. I’d rather have a candidate that was helped by the “Deep State” of America than the “Deep State” of Russia.

“There are no circumstances, not even war, that justify ignoring the Constitution.”

Surprise! Trump has never given a flip about the Constitution. His goal here is to manipulate his cult into ignoring the Constitution, just like he did on Jan 6. And it’s working… again. Read the comments in this thread if you want proof. e.g. “I think Trump has a point. If a corrupted democracy elects an illegitimate government, no subsequent election can be valid.”

The election was valid. Every court in the nation has ruled there was no election fraud. The government of the United States is not illegitimate just because Trump lost. But his cult members will forevermore believe it is. Ask yourself who benefits from having citizens of the United States of America believing their government is invalid?

“Hopefully, he has made himself so unelectable that the GOP will turn away.”

The sane part of the GOP has already turned away. Unfortunately, Lee Atwater’s “southern strategy” brought in enough insane members, they have become the base and now have the power to order around what little is left of the sanity caucus.

I think Elon just answered that question. The only damning evidence anyone had was some Hunter Biden dick pics. And they may or may not have come from the laptop in question… assuming that laptop ever existed.

Is that the kind of “voter defrauding” you’re talking about?

I don’t know who took that poll but I know a lot of Biden voters and I don’t know a single one that would have voted for Trump even it that laptop fable had been true.

If defrauding voters is evil, Trump has done more of it than anyone on the planet.

          1. So you’d vote for a man who says it’s okay with him if the Constitution is terminated? You do realize the Second Amendment is part of the Constitution, right?

          2. Trump says a lot of stupid things, but he doesn’t actually do them. Of course, the President saying stupid things alone can do harm and lead others to actually do stupid things. but even so, Trump never actually did anything so bad as Biden’s climate policy and spending, nor did he bring us to the edge on nuclear war.

So, as bad as he is, he remains the lesser evil.

That was Putin. His saber rattling was the result of a botched war to bring Europe closer to his borders and expand Russia.

          4. “Sure, because us arming a neighbor was no provocation.”

Good grief. Whose side are you on? The actual provocation was the murderous fascist thug Putin dispatching his military and his mercenaries to grab parts of neighboring countries.

Our response to the military annexations in Georgia were mild. Did that buy us “peace for our time?” I don’t think so. Our response to the military annexation of Crimea as mild. Did THAT buy us “peace for our time?” Again, obviously not. Now you are saying “Let Putin have Ukraine” and you seem to think that, finally, that will buy us “peace for our time.” You are who they were talking about when they said that those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

            Yes, those are your opinions.

No good guys : Most decent people disagree with your equating Russia – the fascist aggressor with Ukraine – the democratic country defending itself.

None of our business : history says you are wrong. Fascist aggression unopposed eventually threatens everybody.

But whatever your opinions, you do not get your own facts. In this case it is the actions of Russia under Putin that has caused the UNPROVOKED war.

          6. Attacking a neighbor just might be considered a provocation. And if the other neighbors are concerned that they might be next after Ukraine falls, help is warranted.

          7. It looks the same from the other direction.

We gave Russia assurances that NATO would not expand beyond Poland, and we then started prepping Ukraine for NATO.

How could Russia not see that as provocation?

          8. When Trump says something stupid you’d better take him at his word. When he said he “moved on her like a bitch” you can believe he tried to get there but couldn’t. When he said he wanted to “find 11,780 votes,” you can believe he would have done it if he could. When he said he wants to terminate the Constitution, you’d better not give him the opportunity to try.

Personally, I think promoting insurrection has done more damage to our country than any climate policy.

Spending was necessary for many reasons, one of which was to get the economy out of the tailspin brought on by the pandemic. At this point, it seems to be working. Obama pulled the country out of Bush’s economic disaster and Biden has pulled the country out of Trump’s economic disaster.

As for being on the edge of nuclear war, that is totally Putin’s doing. Putin was counting on his puppet being in place when he made his move on a sovereign country that borders NATO. Unfortunately for him all of his horses and all of his men couldn’t put Trumpty back in office again. Putin’s second mistake was believing he had weakened the US and NATO enough that he could march into Ukraine and take what he wanted anyway. He was wrong again.

There’s no way Trumpty is the lesser of any evil.

          9. Here is the poll, the questions and the methodology:

            One of the questions asked:

“At the time you cast your vote for president, were you aware that Joe Biden chose as his running mate and successor Kamala Harris, rated the most left wing Senator in America, even more leftist that Bernie Sanders, a self-described socialist?”

Isn’t that an egregious example of push polling?

I think so. Other questions also presume a “fact”, use it and ask for agreement.

IMO the poll is at best fake, at worst, egregiously so.

          10. Thanks for doing that research, Len. I thought about doing it but I figured it would be a wasted effort. Anybody gullible enough to believe Trump’s BS isn’t capable of understanding how a pollster can manipulate questions to get the desired answers. This particular poll has all the subtleties of a hooker on crack.

          11. Funny, the site puts on a great show with graphs. But then you read the questions and it is almost “do you still beat your mother for beer money?”.

No wonder conspiracies thrive. There are professionals who know how many folks roll, and the know exactly how to ,give the push.

The more believers, the more heady the feeling of power. The rally master knew this and tailored his rhetoric to solidify the lies.

          12. “But those assurances were given, and it’s in a source you will no doubt trust”

I will ignore your ignorant insult and simply say that I do not believe that “Marxism-Lenism Today” is a trustworthy source. I will add that agreements between nations are documented in formal letters of understanding and are not based on cocktail banter.

The looming expansion of NATO to include Sweden, Finland and Ukraine would not be happening if it were not for Russian aggression.

          13. “ The former idea about “closer to the Soviet borders” is written down not in treaties but in multiple memoranda of conversation between the Soviets and the highest-level Western interlocutors (Genscher, Kohl, Baker, Gates, Bush, Mitterrand, Thatcher, Major, Woerner, and others) offering assurances throughout 1990 and into 1991 about protecting Soviet security interests and including the USSR in new European security structures.”

The big debate was about East Germany, which would put NATO closer to Russia. But negotiations never bore fruit for a variety of reasons.

So discussions were held and assurances were offered, but obviously rejected since nothing was written into a formal treaty.
