Luria’s insider trading with Paul Pelosi

Of course it is perfectly OK for Congressional Representatives to invest in a company right before Congress votes a massive subsidy for that industry.  Nothing to see here.

It is not at all corrupt for elected officials to make tens of millions of dollars based on advanced knowledge of what will come to the floor and when.

      And note that I did not say anything about banning Representatives from owning stocks, the point is trading on knowledge of upcoming legislation. And a 30 day reporting requirement is only useful after-the-fact, as advantage in futures trading can be a matter of hours, not months.

      Luria and Pelosi(Paul) are clearly guilty of trading based on knowledge of the chip subsidy, among other trades where prior knowledge of Congressional action was adventitious.

      If you or I did that, we would be awaiting trial. Luria should be too.

      But it seems you are content with any level of corruption by your tribe.

      2. Luria lies like a rug. Especially in her campaign ads where she claims they are not campaign ads but instesd to save democracy. I keep waiting for her to sing God Bless America. Yeah, we are all stupid, Luria. Insider trading is right up her alley while selling fantasy for a living.

          Or is the question a “personal attack” that will cause to to claim that while NOT answering the question.

          1. I don’t see anything she has done for the district that any other person would not have, but what she has done for herself is make 10s of millions of dollars with very fortunate stock trading.

          2. You only see what you WANT to see. She has bettered the performance of both of her GOP predecessors. One of which resorted to illegal petition signatures in an attempt to stay in power. The other was a used car salesman and, well, used care salesman.

            And if she had an R after her name, you BOTH (Don and Bob) would be cheering her on.

            And when exactly did a retired US Navy commander. small business owner come up with MILLIONS of dollars to purchase the stock. I question the facts of the article on its face and the fact the the Free Beacon has been known to, shall we say, stretch the bounds of credibility.

            Besides, when Jen Kiggans can say that she knows the 2020 election was not stolen and that Biden won it LEGALLY, FAIRLY, and with a plurality of both the popular vote and electoral college, (and not hint around the edges the way Youngkin did, and does)I don’t believe one word she says. For her to call out ANYONE on credibility is dubious BS.

            Pelosi was feeling the heat because it was in the news. Bailing on the investment was a way to avoid being held accountable.

          10. Does that in any way change the fact that Luria enriched herself with advance knowledge of legislation affecting businesses? How many retired Naval officers do you know who’s net worth increased by more than $25 million dollars in 3 years?

          11. DO you have actual PROOF of that worth? Or are you just going by what The Free Beacon claimed. When I read through their piece, I saw nothing citing PROOF of the numbers. Maybe it’s only $250k, and The FB, being what it is, decided to add a few zeroes to make it look much worse than it is.

            I have yet to see anything worthwhile to consider NOT voting for Luria in Nov. I have seen PLENTY to NEVER vote for Kiggans. I didn’t vote for her when she ran for state Senate in my district, and there is NO WAY I will vote for an ELECTION DENIER for any office. That show loyalty to the man who started the BIG LIE before the first ballot was even cast. Which is a much worse outcome for Democracy than voting with the PARTY.

            Funny how when a Republican votes with the party they are cheered. When a Democrat votes with her party, this is the kind of treatment received.

          20. Actually, it’s quite simple, this dislike of Pelosi and Luria among the male GOP. They just cannot deal with strong, intelligent women who act like they have good sense, understand how to behave with dignity and show, daily, what decorum looks like. But, oh boy, give them some blathering female dingbats in their own party, and they go totally ga-ga over them.

All I said that Ms. Kiggans has yet to admit that Biden won, that election, particularly in VA, was free and fair and NOT STOLEN. I don’t know if it’s correct to call someone female but I’m older so……. But there are also a few female democratic dingbats. I shake my head and laugh at both sides and wonder how they got to they’re positions. Sometimes one just has to wonder what world they grew up in.

            From what I know of Kiggans she is not in the group of GOP women I’d refer to as “blathering female dingbats”. I haven’t heard goofiness through her lips thus far. You’re not stupid; you know the women I’m referring to such as M. T. Greene, Sarah Palin and others who have gravitated to the GOP in recent years. Are there Republican women who aren’t blathering female dingbats? Of course there are.

            This conversation is a waste of time, though – because there isn’t a snowballs chance that I’d vote for any Republican, male or female at this point. It would be a waste of my vote, since the GOP has nothing in their platform that appeals to me. I’m a Democrat through and through, and not ashamed to say so.

  2. So a representative votes WITH her party and she is labeled a lapdog for Pelosi of some type. Yet when the GOP votes enmasse they are a unified party.

    Does ANYONE here see how hypocritical that is? Or are the righties here just blind to what happens in the GOP when they do they SAME DAMNED THING?
