You may remember seeing bloody images of this Ukrainian woman, Marianna Vyshemirskaya, on TV a few weeks ago when the alleged atrocity of Russian bombing the maternity hospital in Mariupol was playing endlessly in the news. In this video she refutes the narrative that then was being pushed. She says:
- Ukrainian forces occupied the hospital building for military purposes and took food away from the patients there.
- Ukrainian forces bombed the building when they abandoned it as a military outpost. They did this while pregnant women, their husbands and newborns were inside.
- Western journalists were present throughout the events that Vyshemirskaya witnessed and told a false story about them.
They say that truth is the first casualty of war. Ms. Vyshemirskaya’s commentary in the video seems to me to be therapeutic on that score. I must say, however, that any hint of Western journalists willfully telling false stories is worrisome.
