  2. Here is some evidence that Trump is losing his gaslighting touch.

    It turns out that the people who watched the Presidential debate were evenly split between those who plan to vote for Trump and those who plan to vote for Biden. Those same people say that Biden won the debate 56% to 43%. Seems some of his supporters are believing their own lying eyes and not him.

  3. How do you do a town hall debate when you can’t see your opponent’s reaction? Or even know when your mike is on?

    In any case, neither campaign consented to the format before it was announced.

    That, on top of having Nancy Pelosi’s biographer pose the questions in the VP debate, and one must question the impartiality of the commission

      Lame. They managed to do a split screen in the debate last night. And signaling when a mike is hot is a trivial matter.

      In my opinion, Biden should now say “Fine. No more debates.” And stick to it. Don’t play Trump’s demented games. Biden is not in desperate need of a game changer. Trump is.

      In what way was the moderator partial last night? Calling out Mr. Pence for going over his two minutes? Asking hard questions that, in a couple of instances, neither candidate answered and then no follow ups in an attempt to get to the answer?

      Describe ANY case of partiality of the moderator…if you can.

      1. She repeatedly asked nuanced questions and then gave Pence 60 seconds to explain things that required far more time.

        But go ahead, explain how the GOP proposals that are trapped in committee in the House would address the problem of pre-existing conditions. You have 60 seconds to respond.

        In contrast, she asked Harris open ended questions that were no more than launch pads for an attack on Trump.

        1. The VP showdown was more of a traditional debate in the modern era. Ignore the questions as much as possible and then proceed to party talking points.

          The fly on Pence’s head got more favorable reviews than anyone else.

          (How could he not feel the tickle of a fly sitting on his hair? Loss of taste, smell and follicle nerve stimulation?)

          No more debating makes sense. Trump just wants a schoolyard taunt fest and he screwed the pooch in that endeavor. I didn’t make it past the first 20 minutes, but I may have heard a “so’s your old man” from the current president.

          One side of me says that Trump needed another debate to at least not be a laughingstock, but the other side muses about leopards and spots.

          Either way, I think we are done with debates.

          On to tweeting like a Looney Tune canary.

        2. Well, the GOP “plan” for protecting those with pre-existing conditions is a joke. If Kamala Harris had been asked what was wrong with it, she could answer in 30 seconds.

          The “protection” is to put those with such conditions into separate high risk pools and let the insurers charge whatever they need to charge to make those pools profitable. So, in essence, the GOP would require that insurance for those people be available but do nothing to make it AFFORDABLE.

          Pence’s soporific presentation gave the impression that he was there to run out the clock and somehow position himself to still be a player after Trump is gone. His reminding the voters of what a super pro-life Christian he is was designed to help him – not the ticket. Pence had to WIN and Harris only had to not lose. She accomplished her mission and then some. Pence did not lose either, but he did not WIN as he had to.

        3. Your perception of the debate appears to be delusional. Not only was Mr. Pence given two minutes to answer, he repeatedly went over his time AND interrupted Ms. Harris.
          Many times similar questions were asked. Pence (and Harris) were evasive many times. But to indicate the moderator was biased in any way shape or form, is a poor excuse for the lies, obfuscations and misrepresentations by Pence is desperate pleadings of a desperate supporter of a desperate candidate.

          1. Hey, wait a minute . . . Asking questions about the administration’s record in office was sooooo unfair! Take the question where Pence was asked to explain why the Covid death rate in this country is a multiple of the rate in other advanced countries. So unfair. Just the “fake news” trying to make poor sick little Trumpy look bad again. But, no worries, Pence had no answer and didn’t even try to give one.

            Seriously, considering that Pence supposedly headed up our virus response he was treated very gently. Harris kept her well-refined prosecutorial skills in check. Just, for example, Pence claimed more than once that Trump cut off ALL travel from China. That is very far from the truth – 100’s of thousands of people made the trip – but Harris let it pass both times.

  4. He didn’t seem to mind wasting everyone else’s time in the 1st debate as he out-yelled his opponent and the moderator the entire night But, yeah – a good decision. No one wants to watch him sweat like a pig and rant for 90 minutes.
