  1. I think D.J. Trump needs to get a lift back to Walter Read so he can see if anyone found a piece of his mind that he’s obviously left behind. He must not have any clue how disturbed, mentally, he comes off with all these stupid-sounding Tweets. Hillary, Obama and BIDEN? Wow. Not a single one of them is going to be ‘locked up’; but, he better start worrying about himself – although it isn’t going to be in a jail.

He isn’t doing a darn thing to push his “I feel better than I have in 20 years” mantra of the past few days . . .

    . . . unless he was crazy as a bed-bug in 2000.

If this is all a result of the experimental drugs he’s taking, someone he trusts (IF he trust anyone) really needs to tell him he’s making Americans nervous and uncomfortable. He’s sounding unhinged, and in ALL CAPS at that!

Yeah, the 25th is starting to sound more and more necessary as time goes by. Maybe just taking ALL cell phones away from him is a good idea for awhile. He can’t be trusted to make good sense on TWITTER, so who on earth thinks he should be trusted in any room of the White House. Just asking.

    1. Regarding medication. None of the drugs Trump got have neurological effects, but if you’re 74 years old, with all the aches and pains that go with aging, and you get a few doses on dexamethasone. you’re going to feel A LOT better for a while. Not because of any direct effects on the brain, but because for a while, all those little aches and pains due to wear and tear and inflammation go away.

I had it a couple of years ago to break a chronic bronchitis cycle and I felt like I could do an Iron Man competition. I couldn’t have, but I felt like it.

      1. You don’t know Donald J. Trump’s medical background, condition, body or anything really about what could affect how certain drugs may affect HIM.

The euphoria he’s feeling and evidently is incapable of controlling – for WHATEVER reason – should mean he’s also not capable of making good decisions at this time. We need to have someone else running the country until he’s over the coronavirus. He shows that everyday.

We’re used to his loopy tweets, but at this time he can’t act the way he’s acting and he can’t Tweet the way he’s tweeting. He’s unstable, regardless of whether it’s caused by his “little aches and pains” being gone or if it’s something much more serious.

I just heard him speaking on TV and he doesn’t even sound like himself, in my opinion.

He feels perfect. Good. But that’s not good enough to run this country.

      2. You do not get your on facts. No matter how helpful.

        From the Washington Post . . .

“Dexamethasone can also have concerning side effects, ranging from blood clots, blurred vision, and headaches to “psychic derangements,” such as insomnia, mood swings and “frank psychotic manifestations,” according to the drug label.”

          1. Again, I did you the courtesy of initially believing what you wrote. And again, based on past experience I decided to “trust but verify.”

You have not reported accurately on what is in your own link.

            There is this paragraph . . .
“Psychic derangements may appear when corticosteroids are used, ranging from euphoria, insomnia, mood swings, personality changes, and severe depression, to frank psychotic manifestations. Also, existing emotional instability or psychotic tendencies may be aggravated by corticosteroids.”

With Trump, that last sentence is highly relevant.

In another part of the document there is this on Neurological/Psychiatric side effects . . .
“Convulsions, depression, emotional instability, euphoria, headache, increased intracranial pressure with papilledema (pseudotumor cerebri) usually following discontinuation of treatment, insomnia, mood swings, neuritis, neuropathy, paresthesia, personality changes, psychic disorders, vertigo.”

The phrase “usually following discontinuation of treatment” is clearly tied to ONLY increased intercranial pressure.

In other words, the Washington Post has accurately and relevantly noted the possible psychiatric risks of the pills the President is taking. Your initial statement that there are none was FALSE. When called on this FALSE statement you characterized what was actually on the label FALSELY.

So, there you sit on a pile of falsehoods castigating the WAPO for distorting the truth. You made this accusation “they will cherry pick words out of context and hope no one goes to the original.” I ask you, is this laughable or is it not?

          2. I did indeed miss that reference in the precautions section, only seeing the adverse reactions section.

So, I looked into it further and found that those symptoms do not occur immediately. Trump. at most, could have been taking it for less than a week.

“Lewis and Smith reported a median time to onset of 11.5 days;”

            https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/j.1440-1819.2011.02260.x

Sadly, to get good, unbiased information on Trumps treatment, you have to go to the BBC

            https://www.bbc.com/news/health-54418464

It is an interesting article. Apparently Trump had an ‘all of the above’ treatment regimen including a cytokine blocker.

It appears he is on a short course of the steroid much like I took.

So, in any case, Trump has not been on it long enough for psychiatric symptoms. I don’t know if he is still taking it.

When I took it, to clear a bronchitis cycle, it was a set program, a high dose the first day followed by decreasing doses the next 4 days. Other than stopping my cough and ridding me of the aches and pains of aging for a few days, it wasn’t a big deal.

That said, I replaced a dentist who took it long term(possibly on his own without his MDs knowledge), and it totally destroyed his body over a period of a year. Long term use is not a good idea.

            Like

          3. Yeah, Okay. Sure.

I see the median time for the onset of adverse psychological reactions is 11.5 days. You do know, I suppose, that means half of those reactions set in earlier? So really there is no basis to claim that these reactions have not already set in – especially in combination with a lot of other drugs AND the disease itself.

Did you actually read the Politico report and see the demented tweets the President of the United States is sharing? Actually, it would be better if Trump’s heightened derangement could be laid at the door of the illness and drugs. If not, there is even more reason to get him out of there. Now.

  2. I just read that on Politico.

WTF the wannabe dictator is ranting in all caps.

This man is in charge of our nuclear codes. It is time to secure him in a room and comfort him.

I guess I could not really believe that this would come to pass in my country.

He stood on the balcony channeling his inner Duce, now these delirious threats. Toss in a rallying cry for White gangs to storm the polls, and new logos for the guys too.

Can we get the president a big red sash, an oversized military cap and a chest full of medals? Just don’t let him out of his room without an escort.

    1. For real!

I mean, he calls upon Russia on live TV for help during the 2016 campaign, and here he is regurgitating some BS that Clinton “stirred up” the Trump-Russia collusion scandal? He truly needs an impartial person to ‘proof’ his comments and Tweets. His presidency is being dogged, but it’s NOT one iota of Hillary Clinton’s, Barack Obama’s nor Joe Biden’s fault.

This country is in serious trouble, and if Joe Biden isn’t elected on November 3rd (or 4th, 5th, 6th or any other day before January 20th) we will not recover from whatever happens with Trump and his gang in control. It’s scary-time and very much for real.

      1. Seriously, if after 4 years you still don’t get the joke Trump was making at Hillary’s expense about her Emails, then you shouldn’t be talking about Trump’s sharpness.

What is it you think Trump could do in a second term that he hasn’t done already?

        Like

        1. That was not sarcasm. It was not a joke. You can believe that till the cows come home, but it’s not true. I watched Katy Tur when she asked him about it later that same day –

Katy Tur: “You said the Russians, I welcome them to find those 30,000 emails. Does that not give you pause?”

Donald Trump: “Nope, it gives me no pause,”

She says later that . . . “Gave him no pause,” and “The president’s trying to say it’s a big joke. I was there in the moment. He wasn’t joking. I gave him an out. He did not take that out, as a joke.”

So, since I saw that, I know she’s correct. He wasn’t joking. He wasn’t being sarcastic.

For the record, I AM talking about Trumps sharpness.

As for a 2nd term by this man – heaven only knows what ignorance and hate he can still deliver upon this country.

          1. “You are projecting again.”

THAT ad hominem remark is not responsive to the very real danger of globally catastrophic behavior that a person with Trump’s emotional and physical issues presents when entrusted with nuclear weapons. You asked what more he could do. This is a responsive answer to your question.

Where is Mr. Roberts and his threats of “moderation” when we need him?

          2. Any display of hatred you say I display toward the man out to destroy our country is a tiny fraction of what you display toward President Obama. I have rational reasons for my disdain – not hatred – and I do not spread scurrilous easily disproven slanders about him.

But, leaving that aside, the risk of Trump having control of the nuclear arsenal is palpable. He suffers from feelings of being persecuted, he thinks he is the center of the universe and should he learn his life is at an end his wanting to take us all with him is not a stretch.

  3. Actually. he asks a good question. Where are the arrests?

Brennan’s notes clearly show a conspiracy at the very top of Democrat leadership to use the justice dept and intelligence services to smear a political opponent.

    Certainly that was criminal.

    1. Baloney.

Mueller, the IG, Dunham…none have found anything worth a squat. Even Barr, sycophant that he is, won’t go that route.

Horror of horrors, the intelligence showed serious intervention favoring Trump so the President was told and the investigation continued.

If Obama ignored it it would have been dereliction of his duty and violation of his oath of office. All the contacts, information and romancing of Russian intelligence by Trump folks was sickening enough.

      IMHO

  4. “Anyone else who recklessly squandered lives and money in this way would be suffering legal consequences. Our leaders have largely claimed immunity for their actions. But this election gives us the power to render judgment. Reasonable people will certainly disagree about the many political positions taken by candidates. But truth is neither liberal nor conservative. When it comes to the response to the largest public health crisis of our time, our current political leaders have demonstrated that they are dangerously incompetent. We should not abet them and enable the deaths of thousands more Americans by allowing them to keep their jobs.”

And with that, 208 years of non-partisan publicatio came to an end as the editorial board of the New England Journal of Medicine unanimously waded into this election results.

  5. So, you would have supported a China style response in the US?

If Trump had placed tanks on the roads out of NYC and quarantined everyone in the city by force, you would have given him an ‘Attaboy?’

    Like

    1. China style?

Stop the presses! Straw man gets another beating.

All Dear Leader had to do was, you know, lead. Based on the truth. Here we are eight months in and basic measures such as wearing a mask in public are STILL controversial. They shouldn’t be.

It is a great shame that Trump completely blew his last opportunity to validate his Presidency. But it was not in the cards. Fate was trying to “thrust greatness onto him.” He simply was unable to take it. Megadeath followed.

      1. How would Trump have ‘led’ people to remain in New York where the disease was raging instead of fleeing hither and yon in hopes they were not already infected?

Short of the use of force for containment, you are postulating the impossible. So, are you supporting a China style quarantine or not?

        1. LOL!
          Never say die, eh?

I hate to quote Mike Pence, but he made it clear in the debate that the American people could be counted on to do the right thing. BUT they need to have the truth or they will not know what the “right thing” is. If that “postulate” is wrong, then take it up with Pence.

By the time it was clear how bad New York City was, the genie was out of the bottle. That is why a strong national leader telling the truth and calling on Americans to do the right thing – social distancing and mask wearing – was vital. Instead we had mealy mouthed happy talk and a total lack of leadership from Mr. Trump. He really seems to have thought that only Blue States would suffer and he could pass the buck and the blame to the Democratic state governments. Whoops!

          1. So, you concede that containing the virus was not possible.

People fleeing contagion has been the pattern as long as contagion has been recognized.

No degree of “leadership” is going to stop that. In China, people have very limited mobility to begin with and it’s leaders don’t lead, they dictate.

And remember that even Saint Fauci told us on Feb 29 that there was little risk and no need to change behavior.

Good description of Trump’s response. No leadership. Plus he lied and played down the severity of the virus for months even though he knew, and ADMITTED that he knew, how bad it was.

But he didn’t want to cause a panic. Yeah, right.

Every time you make this claim, I remind you that it is a LIE based on cherry-picking a nuanced statement and ignoring the clear condition that the advice only held until there was community spread where you live. This is probably the fifth time you have tried to lay Trump’s massive failures on Fauci based on this LIE.
