Before someone starts making insulting accusations – as he has done in the past – that Democrats in general and me in particular are gleeful about coronavirus illness and death let me say that I fervently hope for Mr. Trump and his wife to have a speedy recovery without symptoms or pain. I want him to answer to the voters for his failures and to the law for his crimes. Not to the Almighty. Not yet.

    There may be a silver lining to this unfortunate development. Perhaps Mr. Trump’s followers will realize that his mocking of Joe Biden for usually wearing a mask was misguided and they will take social distancing a little more seriously now. If they do, lives will be saved. At the very least, the planned dangerous rallies in Florida and Wisconsin will not happen and that also could save lives.

      As for the word ‘Gleeful’, I have to say not really.
      I will, however go with a subdued – ‘Oh no; bummer.’

  3. As I told my daughter this morning, “Karma’s a bitch.”

    I (and my daughter) wish the Trump’s a speedy recovery. The Mister (Sorry GPB) is in the high risk category. It would not be good for US for him to suffer too long as the turmoil from both sides would ratchet up.

    I am waiting for the post from Mr. Roberts, from UNZ, that states that Biden exposed Trump to the virus during the debate. (All that extra inhaling Trump had to do for firing off his lies and invective)
