Evidently, Judge Sullivan was not impressed or intimidated by the DOJ reversal of the Flynn case. Alternating two pleas of guilty and then one of innocence along with the absence of signatures by anyone connected with the case are apparently non-starters for this court.

Despite the gaslighting by the regime, recall that Flynn was to be privy to the highest state secrets and advising the president while not even disclosing that he was a highly paid lobbyist for a foreign government. A government that would consider, if not in fact was, buying military hardware from Russia as well as us. This, in addition to lying about contacts with Russian intelligence during the Obama administration. Lying not just to the FBI but also to the incoming administration.

And Judge Sullivan is so NOT impressed by DOJ’s argument, he is asking a retired judge to investigate the DOJ decision and is also contemplation perjury charges against Flynn for statements made IN COURT.

It is not as simple as WAPO makes it sound. Merely as a matter of logic, a false statement is not a lie just because it is false. Similarly, as a matter of law, the prosecution must meet a burden of proof by showing both that the “lie” was intentional and that it mattered.
Prosecution solely on the basis of a technicality [making a demonstrably false statement] would be an abuse of the legal system.

The lie was both intentional and mattered. Flynn admitted to it when he accepted the plea agreement. His claims of prosecutorial misconduct, is on its face, bullshit. And it appears that Judge Sullivan feels similarly.

Of course it was intentional considering the number of times Flynn was given the opportunity to re-address his statements.
As for his boss, his credibility slid down the road too, in this Flynn situation, when he refused to initially take Sally Yates’ information seriously.
It seems that just about NO ONE in the ‘djt’ administration is on the level about ANYTHING.
They all need to be swept out with the garbage, asap.

A serious stretch. If Flynn made false statements, he lied, since we know he did talk to the Russians. If he pleaded guilty and did not lie, he lied to the court. If he pleaded innocent to the same charge, either that’s a lie or he lied twice before.
“Technicality”? Baloney.

The latest documents released show that during the interview, the FBI considered Flynn’s answers completely truthful and did say that he couldn’t exactly piece together every conversation he had with whomever but nonetheless was above board as best he could recollect. Everyone, even liberal MSM considered Flynns case closed. Heck outreach to foreign government officials are the normal duties of NSA to begin with. Oh no, the politicization of Russiagate by Democrats and the Obama administration had just begun and couldn’t have that. Let the Obama administration corruption accelerate to mach speed.

This was a hit job from the beginning and Flynn probably felt trapped so he accepted a quick resolution just to home quietly. Unknown to him, he was to be politicized on a grand scale.

The “outreach” was about scrubbing sanctions against Moscow for interfering in our elections.
Why did Flynn lie to the administration about his contacts? Trump fired him for that.
Anyway, we are going to find out a lot more about this since the judge has not accepted the dismissal by Barr.
